Absolutely right.... It will take time for your body to heal, as your body recovers from surgery, it is essential for you to follow the specific eating guidelines given to you by your bariatric surgeon or dietician. The bariatric recovery diet is set to ensure that your body heals properly and obtains adequate nutrition.

Tim, please let us know how your doing. One thing I have found from talk to people is everyone and every surgery is different. Where you sip liquid after every bite to help it go down. I did not have that problem and if I sipped I found I could not get enough protein in me for the day. It seemed liquid bloated me much quicker with food.

Sardines in mustard sauce, yikes! I do like the protein content in them but not to fond of sardines. Chicken and salmon heck yes I am with you on that. I will get that cottage cheese goop receipt for you and email it to you.

Please stop by often and let us know how your doing. Take care.

Ariel, how true your comment is. You really do have to get away from the situation otherwise people notice more from you being sick then excusing yourself from the table.

Please check back often as I will be embarking on a new weight loss journey soon.

I can see why weight loss surgery is such a big step for people, if you have to only eat such a small amount of food. I love my food too much to go through that but luckily I have found a way to eat what I like but not too much, so I have lost weight on my own. It was not easy and it is a battle every day to keep the weight off. I admire anyone who has gone through surgery.

Even after three years I excuse myself from the table all the time. I have to just walkaway from food. If I don’t I will eat myself sick and that is not a pretty site. My recommendation to anyone that has just had weight loss surgery and this is your first holiday season is to Just Say NO!

Don’t be afraid to get up and get away from the situation. Otherwise it will be more embarrsing to have a problem right at the table. With this in mindguzzista

Jeff great job congratulations, I appreciate your total honesty and site. I just had the gastric bypass on December 2nd and am doing pretty good, I have only made a few mistakes and am learning from them extremely fast, Very cold water or milk will hurt if I accidently drink to fast, must chew better and much slower. Like my brilliant Dr. told me I sip water after every bite to wash the food on down and this does help alot. I have read where they say dont drink before or after you eat for like half an hour... There nuts you need to wash that food on down or experience some pain. I have found I dont like the protein powder shakes to much so I have turned to sardines in mustard sauce 16 gms of protein, or Chicken of the Sea Smoked Alaskan Salmon 21 gms of protein plus I love the low fat cottage cheese and nonfat yogurt. Hey whats the cottage cheese goop you tak about?
Happy New Year and keep up your great wok Jeff I started at 484 and day of surgery at 429. 2 week checkup 413, I cant wait to get under 400, Ill keep you updated.
